Terms of service
Last updated October 3, 2026
These terms apply when you or your business use Firstword. By creating an account you agree to them. Questions: support@firstword.io.
Your account
Keep your login secure and tell us straight away if you think someone else has used it. You’re responsible for what happens in your workspace, including what your team members do.
Contacting people
You decide who Firstword contacts on your behalf, so you’re responsible for doing it lawfully. That means:
- Having permission to email and text the people in your sequences, as laws like CAN-SPAM, the TCPA and GDPR require where they apply.
- Honoring unsubscribes and STOP replies. Firstword stops sending to people who opt out, and you must not re-add them without new permission.
- Registering your texting numbers where carriers require it (for example, A2P 10DLC in the US) through your texting provider.
- Including accurate sender details. Firstword adds an unsubscribe link and your business address to marketing emails.
What you can’t do
- Send spam, phishing, or anything deceptive, illegal or harmful.
- Contact purchased or scraped lists.
- Try to get around sending limits, or interfere with the service or other customers.
We may pause sending or suspend a workspace that breaks these rules or puts the service, its sending reputation, or other customers at risk. We’ll tell you why unless the law prevents it.
Connected tools
HubSpot, Quo and Gmail are provided by other companies under their own terms. Firstword acts through the access you grant and can only do what that access allows.
Billing
Paid plans are billed monthly in advance through Stripe. You can cancel any time and keep access until the end of the paid month. Fees aren’t refundable except where the law requires.
Your data
You own your data. We use it only to provide Firstword, as described in our privacy policy.
Availability and liability
We work to keep Firstword running reliably, but it’s provided “as is”, without guarantees that it will always be available or error-free. To the extent the law allows, Firstword isn’t liable for indirect losses, and our total liability is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim.
Changes
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we’ll email workspace owners before the changes take effect.
